Seeking Holiness

By Leroy Lindsey, FAS-endorsed Speaker

In February, I finished preaching a four-part series from Colossians on Sunday evenings at the University Church in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. What a blessing to see the response to the messages and my new translation of “I Am Coming, Lord”! The altar was filled the last three Sundays with seekers of holiness.

Next, I went to Peru, where I preached at the early morning devotionals for the workers and staff of the Granja Porcón, a large rustic retreat center, lumber producer, and trout and dairy farm, with an attached zoo and several restaurants, that attracts many national (and international) tourists, north of Cajamarca. In the first service, around 20 of the 200 forest workers there indicated that they wanted to receive Christ as their Savior. I preached from Matthew 11, “Take my yoke upon you… I will give you rest.” Several attendees later told me that they really appreciated the message.

The second service was a devotional for all the office, factory, and dairy staff; it was a call to genuineness in our Christianity. Many staff members are believers, but are second generation and tending toward a nominal experience. The farm’s “secretary” later asked me for all the texts I had used. He is a solid Christian and the one who organized all the activities there.

Later that week, in the Major Prophets class I taught for the Church of God seminary in that area of Peru, we had a wonderful outpouring of the Spirit at the end of our session on Jeremiah. Reading Lamentations 3:22, I was praying about the mercies of God and thanking him for that great faithfulness. The thirteen students, most of them pastors, began praying, confessing their need to be more faithful in their ministries. The Lord gave us a marvelous time together as we sensed his presence, his holiness, and his restoration.

A note from David Harriman, an associate of The Francis Asbury Society:

Dear friends,

Your prayers will be very much appreciated as we evangelize in two prisons of Peru and also preach the Good News at a market place in the city of Lima (February 22-28). Pray that hearts will turn to Christ and experience His forgiveness. He is the only answer!

My wife, Karol, and I thank you for your involvement in the overseas evangelistic ministry.

Cuba 2017

Happy New Year! And may each of you sense and experience God’s favor and blessing upon your lives throughout the year.

What a blessing to return to Cuba and see God at work in spite of religious restrictions and other odds that Christians must overcome. His Church is alive and doing well!

DHarriman and AndyTwo evangelistic music festivals were held through the efforts and participation of the Wesleyan Church youth. They also went to the streets, invited and saw others come to Christ. One seeker was considering taking his life. The events were blessed as the music and celebration touched lives. Also, Andy, who has traveled the world accompanied me and blessed many through his trumpet playing and singing.

As top priority, the Word was preached and found lodging in hearts. As a result, 65 individuals sought Christ, and young people were enlightened and made commitments toward sexual purity. Pray as these newborn babes in Christ are discipled, that they be totally sold out to God and His Word.

Thank you for your support which makes this ministry possible. It is deeply appreciated.

In His service,
Dave and Karol

Argentina Report (November 22-28, 2016)

Dear Friends and Family,

Christmas greetings to each of you! What an awesome gift that our Lord sent to planet Earth!

coordinator-americo-with-son_lrThe recent ministry trip to Salta, Argentina, was blessed of God! There were three nights of open-air evangelistic outreach (music festivals) in a park, a youth rally, and sessions for married couples. I am deeply grateful to pastor Americo (pictured left), who, in spite of working an all-night job and pastoring two churches, organized these events so beautifully.

marriage-counselors_lrMy deepest gratitude also to Douglas and Melissa Sanchez (pictured left) from Bolivia, who led Spirit-filled seminars and counseling for married couples. They were also very instrumental in setting the stage for inner healing and reconciliation among church leaders who participated in these events.

David Kerney (a former missionary) was very helpful in literature distribution and worked with the counselors in registering names, addresses, and phone numbers of those who sought Christ. How we praise God for the new names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and for the work of the Holy Spirit in restoring and strengthening believers and pastors.

Merry Christmas!

Youth Respond in Honduras! (Sept. 22-25)

Posted on| October 11, 2016 | Comments Off on Youth Respond in Honduras! (Sept. 22-25)

What an experience to reach out last month (September 22–25) to youth in Catacamas, Honduras, where God’s Spirit moved in hearts. It was a sight to behold as they responded!

The first two evangelistic events were held in the largest junior high/high school in Catacamas, followed by an outdoor music festival at the University of Agriculture. Over 200 students sought Christ, and countless others made commitments toward sexual purity!

I also had the honor of joining hundreds of Christians in an outdoor celebration of the “Day Of The Bible,” and then seeing boys at “El Sembrador” Christian school give their hearts to Jesus, while others there experienced inner healing for the hurts of the past.

I am deeply grateful to David Quiroz and Tony Martinez, pastors who organized these special events and provided transportation. Also, my deepest thanks to Enoc Ulloa, the “El Sembrador” school director, who provided board and room.

Pray that the young lives touched by the ministry on this trip will be grounded in the faith and that they will be lighthouses for Jesus.

Karol and I thank you again for your support and prayers which makes this ministry possible.
