Holiness God's Way
"Dr. John Oswalt searches deeper spiritual issues of holiness by
examining I Thessalonians, I Peter, Galatians, and Isaiah to answer
real questions about holiness: Is our holiness relational or actual?
If we are required to live holy lives marked by holy behavior, what
is holiness anyway? What is God's holiness really about? What make
God different than any other being in the universe? These tapes are
exciting lessons to guide the average Christian into a better
understanding of just what holiness is." |

Heart of a Missionary
"Travel through the book of I Thessalonians with Dr. Oswalt as he
brings to light the missionary heart of the apostle Paul. Dr. Oswalt
asks the questions, "What is the agonizing concern for his
converts?" "What is the nature of the Christian faith?" "Why did
Jesus come?" The answers are not as obvious as we might think. This
is a great tape series for anyone who is involved with mission work
or for the person who wants to better understand the complexity of
the apostle Paul." |

Holiness: Our Challenge
This excellent series on
Holiness delves into the biblical foundation to the possibility of
living a Holy life here and now. Is it possible? Can we be
transformed into the likeness and character of God in this lifetime?
What does scripture say? Dr. Oswalt takes us through Numbers,
Isaiah, Ezekiel and Romans to explore what the "promise of the
Father" is and how God fulfilled it through his son, Jesus. Can God
bind himself to the likes of you and me and make us holy? Does the
fate of the Church depend on what we do with the doctrine of
holiness? These age-old questions are examined in a clear concise
way by this gifted teacher. |

this incredible letter with Dr. Oswalt as he illuminates the truths
Paul spreads before us. Dr. Oswalt has a way of opening them to see

Preaching the Old Testament
Biblical preaching leads people to
encounter the God of scripture. If that encounter is to be with the
real God, and if people are to gain a robust understanding of him,
they must hear the whole of scripture, says Dr. Oswalt. Hear why the
Old Testament is so important for a clear understanding of who God
is, what the covenants are all about and what God’s goal is for His
people. Those truths are rooted in the teachings of the Old
Testament. Dr. Oswalt gives practical methods for preachers to mine
the gold of those teachings and share with their parishioners the
truth that the New Testament is based on. This is an especially
great tool for ministers. |

Ezekiel - Life With God
"There are two things that are really hard for us humans to accept.
One is the justice of God and the other is the forgiveness of God.
We really have a hard time believing that the spiritual realm is
just as much one of cause and effect as the physical realm. We want
to live as we please and suffer no consequences. But that is not the
way it is. God who created a predictable physical world created a
spiritual world that is just as predictable. So when Ezekiel speaks
to his own people on these issues, he speaks to us too. But we don't
find forgiveness much easier to accept from God than we do justice.
When we have made a mess of our lives, it is very hard to believe
that it could ever be different. We cannot believe in a God so
gracious and creative that he could intervene and bring something
positive and good and hopeful out of the mess. But that is exactly
what he can do. And when Ezekiel insists on this to his people, he
is insisting on it to us, too." |

A Study on Malachi
The Book of Malachi is remarkably relevant to the present age.
It asks the question, "Why should we serve God?" Often today
it is suggested that we should serve God because that is a good way
to get blessings, namely "health and wealth." Malachi says
that God does indeed bless his own, but that his own serve him for
love and leave the nature of the blessing to God, believing
confidently that he himself will come to set all things right. |

Called to Be Holy
In this tape series, Dr. Oswalt shares the key ideas from his
book, Called to be Holy. He shows that holiness is not
an "add-on" to the Christian life, nor some sort of super-spiritual
piety, but is simply what God has made for us. He traces the
theme through the Old Testament into the New Testament and closes by
showing what holiness is and is not and how it can be practical
reality in a believer's life. |

The
Biblical Basis for Holiness Theology
In this series of messages, Dr. Oswalt shows how the theology
expounded by Wesley and developed by his successors is rooted
directly in Scripture. In the first message he summarizes what
that theology is, and in the succeeding ones he explores key
Biblical passages from Exodus, Deuteronomy, Ezekiel, I
Thessalonians, Colossians, I Peter, and I John. In each
message he works through a significant block of Scripture to show
that holiness is indeed what the Bible is about and not merely some
"hobby horse" growing out of a few isolated "proof texts." |

Exodus
In this study, Dr. Oswalt works through the entire book of
Exodus. He shows how the Biblical understanding of salvation
is shaped by this book and what it says. While the Exodus is
about Israel's deliverance from Egypt and the events following that
deliverance, it is actually about much more. It is about the
need for salvation, the means of salvation, the nature of salvation,
and the purpose of salvation. Dr. Oswalt argues that God's
ultimate goal for human beings is that they share his character (the
covenant) so that he can take up residence among them, and
ultimately in them (the tabernacle). |

Test of Love, a Study on I John
The book of I John is a powerful description of what it means to be
a Christian. It is an antidote to the various kinds of one-sided
Christianity that have existed from Christ's time until now. "The
beloved Apostle," probably writing near the end of his life, is
summing up for the Church the riches of life in Christ. He shows
that the true Christian is marked by belief in the deity of Christ,
a life of joyful obedience to God's commands, and a transforming
love for others. No one of these will do in isolation. Each of them
fit together into a heavenly tapestry, giving the Christian a deep
confidence in eternal life. |
