Bette Crouse

Dr. Elizabeth Crouse, or “Bette” as her friends call her, is a graduate of Asbury College (now Asbury University). She earned a Master of Nursing degree from Yale University and holds an honorary doctorate from Asbury College.

Bette went to Korea as a missionary under OMS International (now known as One Mission Society) in 1959 where she served as professor at one of the largest Asian university medical complexes until 1992. She met J.B. Crouse in Korea. The Lord led their lives together and they were married in 1961. As an effective team, J.B. and Bette ministered with OMS in Korea from 1959–1992. Following this, J.B. served as president of OM for 13 years (1992–2004). In 2014, J.B. went to be with his Savior.

Over the years, Bette has been scheduled for meetings in the U.S. and overseas. She has taught Bible studies and courses on Creative Christian Womanhood. She has written for various religious and professional publications.

Bette continues her involvement in missions in different capacities, one of which is to serve on the Thrive board, a ministry to missionary wives. One of her present passions is to educate women to be aware of, as well as prepared for, persecution.
