Titus
Women's Leadership Retreat and
Pastors' Wives Retreat 2006
The Overflowing Heart
The Privilege of
His High Calling!
“I, (Paul) beg you
to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by
God.”
-Ephesians 4:1 (NLT)
Each year Titus Women's Ministry
hosts a Leadership Prayer
Retreat. These retreats are for the sole purpose of encouraging and equipping women in
the life of the Holy Heart so they may lead others to Jesus. Our
last retreat was held November 16-19, 2006 at The Inn at Amish Door in
Wilmot, Ohio. A new aspect of the 2006 retreat was the addition
of one extra night devoted especially to pastors’ wives. Following
are responses from some of the women that attended ...
Following is what
I received from being at the Leadership Retreat (although I cannot
adequately express how God challenged me through the sessions).
The retreat was a time away from the pressures and stresses of life
to linger in the presence of Jesus. I found the days to be so
refreshing and renewing to my spirit. I loved the thought of being
called to belong to Jesus. My heart swelled in praise to God at the
reminder that He will enable us to live each day without sin and
with no other gods before Him. The greatest challenge to me
was that of having a vital, alive, believing prayer life. The
resources made available to us have helped me continue to seek after
that kind of life of prayer with all my heart, soul, mind and
strength even though the days of retreat are concluded. My
spirit is reaching out for more and more of Jesus and I am enjoying
the wonderful refreshment in my love relationship to Him.
Thank you, Titus women, for a God-ordained, God-seeking,
God-honoring retreat.
I am so thankful for the retreat. It was
an oasis in the desert for me. There was not one speaker that
God didn't speak to me through. I think I understand holiness
(sanctification) for a woman. Not to be critical, but men do
spirituality different. The concept is the same. It's hard to
explain, but hearing from a woman's perspective was good.
I must admit that I kind of had a preconceived dread of the
"holiness" message. However, I couldn't get enough of hearing
from God through the speakers. I left with a renewed vision for
the lost, determination to say "Yes" to Jesus with the help of
the Holy Spirit, and a commitment to prayer. I keep thinking of
ladies to invite if given the chance again to attend. The
ladies I am thinking of are leaders in their churches. The
Pastors' Wives Retreat was excellent. Jesus spoke to me though
everyone who shared.
It was a great weekend just to be able to
put everything aside and focus on God and what He was saying to
me. I enjoyed meeting other women who are in the ministry and
being able to pray with them. I know that God helped me to find
that desire to know Him even more and share His love with others
even in the busyness of ministry, family, and life. I am
changed and was able to find some real everyday things to do to
help keep me focused on Him.
